Steve Gandy

July 4, 1953 — November 5, 2020

Fort Davis

On Thursday, November 5th 2020, Steven Reneau Gandy, living husband and father, passed away peacefully at his home in Fort Davis, Texas at age 67.

Steve was born on July 4th, 1953 to Harvey and Marilyn (Milby) Gandy in Dallas, Texas. The second of four children, he grew up in Dallas where he graduated Hillcrest High School in 1971. After attending Texas A&M University and graduating from UT Dallas he went west. In 1985 he moved to Midland, Texas, where he would dazzle and marry the woman that laughed at all his jokes, Lisa Montgomery Gandy. There they raised three children, many pets and one beloved English bulldog that never left his side. Steve and Lisa moved to Fort Davis in 2014.

Steve came into this world the same way he lived - with fireworks. He never missed an opportunity to light up a room with a story or tale of adventure. Life itself was one great story in his eyes; whether he was executing impossibly complicated projects with his children, rescuing exotic animals, or simply cooking brunch for anyone that happened across his doorstep, he lived to make memories with the ones he cherished around him. Steve always had time to lend an ear and loved nothing more than a bit of trivia or interesting fact. It was his curiosity that led him around the world, and now his curiosity had taken him on to the great adventure.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Harvey, and mother Marilyn. He is survived by his wife Lisa, and three children Kara (Taylor, and their three children Lisa, Ethan, and Grant), Becky, and Tucker (Lissa), his brothers Marshall Gandy, Russell Gandy, and sister Nancy Myers and their families. He is also survived by their adopted daughter Narissa Clanton, many adoring nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
