Jacob Ramirez

Our beloved, Jacob Ramirez, passed away on July 15th after battling cancer. Jacob was 35 and was surrounded by loving family members when he passed.

Jacob was born to Raymond and Elsa Ramirez on November 6th, 1986, in Alpine, Texas. A member of the church from a very young age, Jacob participated in church alongside his family members.

Jacob graduated from Presidio High School and Moved to Alpine, Texas, to attend Sul Ross State University. While in school, Jacob realized his passion for athletic training. He continued his passion for athletic training by receiving his master’s degree at Texas Tech, “Go Raiders! Horns down.”

After graduation, Jacob proudly took a position as an athletic trainer and coach with Presidio ISD. He was passionate about sharing his love for God, sports, coaching, and education.

In 2010, Jacob met his wife, Jhenytzel, and their love formed their son, Josiah. Jacob put family first, always. Jacob was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He often mentioned that his family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was a strong, loving, supportive, and dedicated father, husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, teacher, and coach.

Anyone who knew Jacob knew that he was kind, humble, ready to do for others, had a unique sense of humor, and was a friend to all. Jacob would light up the room with his smile and illuminate the world with his heart. His passion and enthusiasm for sports was unrivaled.

He is survived by his father and mother, Raymond and Elsa Ramirez, his siblings Caesar and Brenda Ramirez, and his wife and son, Jhenytzel and Josiah Ramirez.

Now that Jacob has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Jacob’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him.

“Now, says the LORD, your creator, O Jacob, and your formator, O Israel: Fear not, for I redeemed thee; I gave thee a name, mine is thou. I will be with you when you pass through the waters; if not by the rivers, they will flood you. When you pass through the fire, you will not burn, nor will the flame burn in you. For I, the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, am your Savior; for in my eyes, you were of great esteem, you were honorable, and I loved you.” - Isaiah 43:1-3
