Yolanda Ramirez, of Alpine, Texas closed her eyes to her earthly home and gained her heavenly reward of eternal life on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Big Bend Regional Medical Center she was 84 years' young.
Yolanda was fearless and was ready to be called home by Jesus Christ. "To Die is to Gain", was always on her mind and was a motto that she lived by daily. Yolanda was very active up until the day that she entered eternal life. Yolanda was looking forward to a trip of a lifetime a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean and Bahamas later this month.
A visitation for Mrs. Ramirez will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017 from 6 pm to 7 pm at Alpine First Assembly of God with a prayer service following from 7 pm to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Alpine First Assembly of God with Pastor Suzano Carrillo, Jr. of El Paso First Assembly of God conducting the services, burial will follow in Holy Angles Cemetery.

Mrs. Ramirez was born on February 1, 1933 in Marfa, Texas to Leonor Hernandez Valenzuela. Mrs. Ramirez attended St. Mary's Catholic School and was a caregiver to many local families.

Yolanda was a wonderful Christian and Mother, God Blessed her by meeting and falling in love with Cornelio C. Ramirez and his own children in which she embraced and loved them as they were her very own flesh and blood. She was a dedicated Christian and loved life to its fullest.

During her free time, she loved to travel, fish and spend time with her family and friends. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time in her garden, as well as taking care of plants and flowers that her beloved family would give her. She enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren.

She enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys as well when her children's or grandchildren's teams were playing against the Cowboys, she would cheer on their team and hope that they would win. Yolanda enjoyed using her smart phone and could operate and do things on Facebook that no one else knew how to do.

Yolanda is preceded in death by her husband Cornelio C. Ramirez, her parents Atanacio and Leonor Valenzuela, her son Carlos (Charlie) Mediano, her sisters Emma Campos and Carmen Carrillo and her brothers Benito Valenzuela, Manuel Valenzuela, and Enrique Valenzuela.
The Ramirez family has entrusted Alpine Memorial Funeral Home with services.

Those left to honor and cherish Yolanda's wonderful Christ centered life are her sons: Henry (Indio) Ramirez of Alpine; Santiago (Jimmy) Median, Jr. and his wife Bernie of Denver, Colorado; Oscar Mediano of Alpine; Roberto (Robby) Ramirez and wife Karen of Alpine; and Pedro (Pete) Ramirez and wife Karen C. of Midland; her daughters: Bonnie Heinen and husband Mike of Midland, Anita (Nana) Mitchell and husband Dewey of San Antonio; Dena Lujan and husband Arnulfo of Alpine and Anita Mediano of Las Vegas, Nevada; her brother Atanasio Valenzuela, Jr. and wife Josie of El Paso and her sister Lupe Wilson and husband Jerome of El Paso. Yolanda is further survived by 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews as well as all her friends that she befriended during her life.

Yolanda lived a very beautiful Blessed life and will be truly missed by her family and friends.

The Ramirez family has entrusted Alpine Memorial Funeral Home with arrangements.
