It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle, and friend, William "Will" Doherty, affectionately known by many as "Wild Bill."

Will was born on January 23, 1983 in Cottonwood, AZ, to Henry and Corrie Doherty, who both preceded him in death.

Will graduated from Alpine High School in 2001 and went on to attend Texas Tech University and The University of the South (Sewanee) before earning his Bachelor's degree from Sul Ross State University.

Will had an incredibly curious mind and a gift for understanding how things worked. He loved working on cars, go-karts, motor bikes and just about anything mechanical. If it had an engine or could be taken apart and rebuilt, Will was in his element. He also had a deep love for music, especially 2pac, most rap music and the dance music of the early 2000s.

His adventurous spirit led him to Los Angeles, where he worked as a production assistant before returning to Texas, where he also worked in TV production and hospitality management in Marfa.

More than anything, Will will be remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, infectious laugh, and the deep love he had for the people closest to him. As his sister and nephew, we'll forever miss our conversations, our shared love of true crime documentaries, his sense of humor, and the countless memories we were blessed to make together.

Will spent many years courageously searching for answers to complex health challenges that profoundly affected his life. Despite everything he endured, he never stopped hoping for relief. We take comfort in knowing he is finally at peace.

Will is survived by his sister, Cathy Hamilton and nephew, Cruz Hamilton of Arizona, his Uncle Laurence O'Doherty of London, England, his Uncle John Elliott and Aunt Paige Elliott of Alabama, his Uncle George Elliott of Florida, many beloved cousins throughout the United States and Europe, and countless lifelong friends whose lives were richer because they knew him.

The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out with prayers, love, stories, and memories of Will. Your kindness has brought comfort during one of the most difficult times of our lives.

Please remember Will for the remarkable man he was: intelligent, funny, fiercely loyal, endlessly curious, and deeply loved.
