Rosendo Andres Hernandez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosendo Andres Hernandez, known affectionately as Andy, who left us on December 6, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Presidio, Texas. Born on November 30, 1963, in Presidio, Andy was a shining light in the lives of his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty.

Andy was a proud graduate of Presidio High School, where he completed his studies in 1982. Shortly thereafter, he embarked on a journey of service to his country by joining the United States Army. His military career took him to Germany, where he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to serving and protecting his nation.

A devoted family man, Andy will be deeply missed by his children: Priscilla Marie Hernandez, Rosendo Andy Hernandez, Jr. (Lorena Hernandez), and Sean Anthony Hernandez (Zuzanna Hernandez). His love for his family was boundless, and he cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren: Bryannah Maree Moreno, Brisa Mae Moreno, Andrea Hernandez, Venecia Hernandez, and Ellie Rose Hernandez. He takes with him fond memories of countless gatherings, laughter-filled evenings, and the joy that only family can bring. Andy is also survived by his father, Rosendo Hernandez; sister, Dora Cruz (Gabino Cruz), brother, Jose Hector Hernandez (Sibylle Hernandez); and many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Although he cherished his earthly family, Andy is now reunited with those who passed before him: his beloved mother, Priscilla Hernandez; cherished sister, Melissa H. Trevizo; and grandparents, Dolores Camp, Rosendo Hernandez, and Ester Hernandez. Their spirits, once a comforting presence in his life, will now welcome him with open arms in the eternal embrace of peace.

A man of passions, Andy was known as the #1 Dallas Cowboys fan. His spirited enthusiasm for watching his team play brought him immense joy, and he could often be found cheering on the Cowboys, reveling in their victories and feeling the thrill of each game. Alongside his love for football, he found great happiness in listening to music, and spending time with and caring for his canine best friend "Major" Hernandez.

To honor Andy's life and legacy, the community is invited to come together for a series of services on December 13, 2025, at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Presidio. The day will begin with a viewing at 9:00 AM, followed by a prayer service at 10:30 AM. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, to be followed by interment at Haciendita Cemetery with military honors.

Pallbearers for the services will be Gabino Cruz, Rene Molinar, Jesse Joe Molinar, Rigo Trevizo, Jr., Jose Hector Hernandez and Kai Hernandez.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Rosendo Andres Hernandez, let us remember the many ways he touched our lives and the warmth he brought to our hearts. His spirit lives on in the stories we share and the memories we cherish. Andy’s journey has ended, but the love he gave will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Rest in peace, dear Andy. You will always be missed and never forgotten.
