Rosa Guerrero

Rosa T. Guerrero of Marfa, Texas was born in Valentine, Texas on December 19, 1919. Surrounded by her loving family, God reached out into his beautiful rose garden, and on June 25th, God picked the most beautiful red rose in his garden, and called Rosa to her Heavenly home.
Praying of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday, June 28th at 7:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Rosa T. Guerrero on Friday, June 29th at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marfa, Texas, with Father John Paul Madanu presiding.
Serving as pallbearers are: Eddy Acosta, Jesse Acosta, Michael Espinosa, Raul Guerrero, Danny Contreras, and Grayson Vizzerra.
Rosa was born to Dionicio Tarin and Dominga Baeza. She later met and married the love of her life Luz Guerrero, in which they later settled in Marfa in 1938.
A loving mother, grandmother, friend, and homemaker, Rosa was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Guadalupanas, President of Amistad Club for many years, a devout and committed parishioner, an associate member of the order of the Missionary Sisters of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Rosa loved to shop and was devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.
Rosa enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Las Vegas, Mexico, Canada, as well as traveling with Sister Luz, and Sister Margie to minister to the surrounding faith communities. Rosa loved to sing, and host parties at her home in Marfa. Her friends truly missed her when her fragile years came upon her.
Preceding Rosa in death her beloved husband Luz Guerrero; one son Raul Guerrero; her parents; one grandson, David Contreras, one granddaughter Nancy Acosta Garcia, three sisters, and one brother.
Those left to honor and cherish the wonderful loving memory of Rosa are her three daughters Elodia Contreras, Ida Anderson, and Eloisa Espinosa, and one son Luz Guerrero. Ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, as well as numerus nieces and nephews. Those also left to cherish her memory are her beloved friends and the members of the order of Missionary Sisters of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
The Guerrero Family has entrusted Alpine Memorial Funeral Home with arrangements.
