Robert Dean Fields of Alpine, Texas went to be with the Lord on September 24th, 2022, at the age of 51. Robert was born October 17, 1970, in Germany to Richard and Louise Fields.
Robert grew up in Abilene and New Braunfels, graduating from New Braunfels High School in 1989. He received his BA in Speech Communication with a minor in Geology at Texas State University, his MA in Public Administration at Sul Ross University and he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
During high school, with the guidance of the Moore family, Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and changed the course of his life. Robert served God with every breath he took. He was active in every community, campus ministries, Boy Scouts, and prison ministries. He loved and served God in all aspects of his life.
Robert met Amy Salone at Texas State University in 1993, marrying in June 1995. His love of geology brought them to Alpine and the beauty of the mountains and the loving community kept them here. He was extremely proud of his son Seth, who was born in Alpine in 2003. He enjoyed summer and winter camping with Seth and the Boy Scouts, and he looked forward to these adventures year-round.
Robert is survived by his parents, Richard and Louise Fields, his beloved wife, Amy, and his son Seth. He was loved dearly by Amy’s family: Brent and Ginger Salone, David, Laura, David and Will Pearson, Ben and Roxanne Salone and Asher, Jon and Anna Salone and Liam.
There are so many people that he loved and prayed for and served in Christ that they can’t be named. Services for Robert will be at First Baptist Church in Alpine, Saturday October 1st at 10:00 a.m.
