Paul Pena

Paul "Nuniz" Pena, of Marfa, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2016 in El Paso, Texas. Paul was born on September 4th, 1998 in Odessa, Texas to JoAnn Lujan. Paul is a member of the Marfa High School graduating class of 2017.
Rosary was recited by Sister Margie on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 7pm at St. Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11 am at St. Mary Catholic Church burial followed at El Merced Cemetery with Father Estaban Sescon officiating.
Honoring "Nuniz" by serving as pallbearers where: Allen Meador, Adam Mediano, Tony Lopez, Carlos Payan, Chris Rose and Jeremy Guevara. Those serving as honorary pallbearers where: Fred Mediano, Jacob Acosta and Sal Roman.
Paul was known for his love of life, his love of music, his love of making people laugh, and most of all his love of family. There was never a time, that Paul wasn't trying to make his family or friends laugh. "Nuniz" was a free spirit and never meet a stranger always seeing the good in people and befriending them. Paul was a Pittsburg Steelers fan and loved cheering on his team to victory with his family and friends
Paul had a kind heart for his Mother JoAnn, always looking out for her and protecting her as she had always protected him. Upon graduation, "Nuniz" was to enroll in vocational school learning the trade of underwater welding.
Paul's laughter and practical jokes will keep his spirit and memory alive in the hearts of all who loved and knew him.
Those preceding Paul in death are: his grandmother Dolores Pena; and his Uncle Mark Pena.
Family and friends who will honorary and cherish the memory of "Nuniz" are: his parents JoAnn Pena and Nick Torres of Marfa; his brothers Michael Pena and Chris Pena both of Marfa; his half-sister Cheyenne Lujan of Lubbock, Texas; his grandfather Marcos S. Pena of Marfa; his uncles and aunts Jessie Pena and wife Annabel of Marfa, Anita Pena of Ceres, California, Crystal Cordero of Las Cruses, New Mexico and Bobby Lujan and Ramond Lujan; his God-Parents Bobby Ramirez and wife Cynthia of Marfa. Paul's special friends Jeremy Guevara, Chris Rose, Adam Mediano, Allen Meador, Sal Roman and Carlos Payan as well as numerous 1st and 2nd cousins, as well all who knew and loved Paul.
