Maria Duran

Maria Agueda Duran, 97, of Marfa, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 in Aurora, Colorado.

Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. followed with Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Marfa. Burial will follow at La Merced cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Agueda was born in Coahoma, Texas on November 21, 1926 to Sifredo and Jesusita Duran. She had worked as a desk clerk for the Thunderbird Motel and the Holiday Capri Inn in Marfa for several years. She had also worked as an office clerk for Corder Lumber Company, also for many years.

She is survived by her daughter Elsie Ramirez of Aurora, Colorado, a brother, Armando and his wife Juanita Duran of California a sister Rosalinda Perez of Denver, Colorado, a brotherinlaw, Pablo Alvarado of Marfa and multiple grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Elvia Alvarado.
