Margaret Rojo

February 22, 1928 — January 16, 2016

Margaret Hartnett Rojo passed away peacefully on January 16, 2016, at the age of 87, with her loving husband and daughter at her side. She was born on February 22, 1928, in Marfa, TX to Beatrice Dutchover Hartnett and William Hartnett.

Margaret attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Marfa High School in 1944. She met her future husband, Alberto, in Marfa. They married shortly after Alberto's discharge from the Navy and service in WWII at St. Mary's Catholic Church on November 28, 1948. They started their family in Marfa, and then hey moved to Alpine to raise their children in 1957. Margaret was a loving mother and housewife. She worked at C.G. Morrison's and Forcheimer's for many years. She loved visiting with the customers who also enjoyed visiting with her.

She was very proud of her family, enjoyed traveling to different places, especially to California By Area to visit her son and his family, and she loved to laugh and say things to give a good laugh. She was also her very proud of her Harnett and Dutchover roots. Any Hartnett or Dutchover success was also her success. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where she and Alberto were members of the Adult Choir for 35 years. She enjoyed her role as "choir secretary" and calling all members to share information from Johnnie Mae. She had many special friends who she would speak to by phone regularly as well as her family members. She used to say how great it would be if I could actually see them as I talked to them. She was blessed to live long enough to see that happen with Face Time.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert, and infant son William. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alberto, daughter, Patsy Martinez (Bobby), of McAllen, TX, sons Conky (Linda) of San Jose, CA, and Danny Rojo (Glenda) of Alpine, TX. Also surviving her are her eight grandchildren who adored her: Christy (Rusty) Zonker of Round Rock, TX; Danny (Michelle) Rojo of Alpine, TX; Benita (Bernie) Razo of Keller, TX, Ronnie (Gabby) Rojo of Miami, FL; Adolfo Razo, Jr., of Austin, TX; Ricky Rojo and Sandra (Juan) Renteria of San Jose, CA; and Jaime (Ashley) Rojo of Odessa, TX. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandsons.
