Lionel Gonzales

Lionel "Leo" Gonzales, 77, of Marfa, passed away October 6, 2017 at Pecos County Memorial Hospital in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Rosary service was held at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday, October 9, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial followed the rosary service. Burial was at the Marfa Catholic cemetery. Fr. Beto Lopez was the officiant. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Leo owned and ran his own carpet store in Marfa for many years. He was a Marfa High School graduate.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Cruz Gonzales of Marfa, his daughter Melva G. Mason of Austin, his son Peter John Gonzales of Alpine and sister, Ilda N. Gonzales of Fort Stockton.

Pallbearers were Peter Gonzales, Oscar Gonzales, Al Shellenberger, Augustin Rojas, Chuy Garcia and Rick Mason.
