Jesusita Lara Granado, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of the Fort Davis community, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2023, in Midland, Texas. Jesusita was born on December 26, 1938, in Fort Davis, TX.

Though her formal education ended after the 8th grade, Jesusita possessed a wealth of life experience and wisdom that she shared with those around her. As a homemaker, she dedicated her days to creating a warm and loving environment for her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including buying materials to sew beautiful garments and cooking delicious meals that brought comfort to her loved ones.

Jesusita had a heart overflowing with love and was known for her friendly and compassionate nature. She would go above and beyond to help anyone in need, always extending a helping hand without hesitation. Her selfless acts of kindness touched the lives of many in the community.

In her leisure time, Jesusita delighted in spending quality moments with her children and grandchildren. Whether it was through sharing stories, playing games, or simply being present, she treasured these moments and cherished the laughter and love they brought into her life. Additionally, Jesusita had a special bond with her sister and best friend, Amanda, with whom she spent hours talking on the phone, sharing their joys and sorrows.

As a devoted fan, Jesusita never missed an episode of "The Price is Right" and enjoyed the excitement it brought into her daily routine. Her enthusiasm for the show was infectious, and it became a tradition for her to watch it with her loved ones, creating lasting memories and laughter-filled afternoons.

Jesusita Lara Granado will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, love, and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents David and Elvira Lara; brothers, Jimmy Lara and Frank Lara; and sister Josephina Maldonaldo. 

She is survived by her daughter Corinna Granado; sons, Richard Granado, Jr., Daniel Granado, Marcos Granado, Sr. (wife Christina); sister Amanda Tarango; and brothers, Carlos Lara and Ruben Lara; grandchildren, Marcos Granado, Jr. Izabella Granado, Joseph Granado (wife Casie), Brittany Epley (husband Britt), Skylar Granado, Meranda Ornelas (husband Eddy), Rene Granado, Auxiana Gonzales, Natalia Granado, Nathaniel Granado, Nicholas Granado; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral services to honor and celebrate her life will be held on December 22, 2023. The public viewing will take place at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Alpine, Texas from 11:00 a.m., followed by the Rosary at 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will commence at 1:30 p.m. at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fort Davis, Texas, where Jesusita will be laid to rest.
