James Albert Jenkins, died on January 4, 2017 at age 76. A long-time resident of Fort Davis, TX, James lived a life of keen curiosity, strong opinions, and big ideas. After retiring from the Houston Police Department as a Sergeant in the Criminal Intelligence Division, James was a Pastor for the Friends Church in Sterling, KS. He purchased the Stone Village Motel in Fort Davis and later sold the business to write and publish West Texas tales. In his spare time, he became an expert on birds and an avid collector of fruit jars. James leaves behind a brother, six children, many grandchildren, and his kind and supportive Fort Davis neighbors who shared their garden harvests and friendly conversations.
