Connie White, 85, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, in Idaho. She was born on June 9, 1941, and lived a life marked by faith, love, creativity, and quiet strength.
Connie retired from the Criminal Justice Department at Sul Ross State University after many years of dedicated service. She was an intelligent, articulate, and talented woman whose kindness, humor, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many.
A woman of deep faith, Connie loved God and carried that faith with her throughout her life. She was both tender and strong, loving and resilient. She devoted herself to raising her children and took great joy in her family. Known affectionately as "Grammy," she treasured her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride.
Connie had a creative soul and enjoyed expressing herself through crochet, ceramics, and art. She found beauty in the world around her, especially in the desert landscapes she loved and in the timeless elegance of roses. She also had a special affection for small dogs, whose companionship brought her comfort and joy throughout the years.
She cherished her friendships and was grateful for the many friends who shared in her life's journey. Whether through laughter, conversation, or simple acts of kindness, Connie built lasting relationships and touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Johnny White of Alpine, Texas; her son, Thane Hafen of Idaho; and her sister-in-law, Delia White of Terlingua, Texas; and her 1st cousin Thane Baker of Omaha NE who she named her favorite son after.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeff Hafen of Utah.
Connie will be remembered for her warmth, faith, creativity, wit, unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she extended to friends and strangers alike. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 10:00 am at Elm Grove Cemetery
