Billy Ramsey

Billy (Bill) Mayfield Ramsey, 88, took his final journey home on June 2, 2015.

Bill was born November 9, 1926 to Joe Bailey and Vyrgil Mayfield Ramsey in Merkel, Texas. Bill married the love of his life, Leila Jeanette Stewart on August 20, 1950.bill and Jeanette spent many years together working on ranches in Texas and Kansas making their move to Alpine, Texas in 1985. Bill and Jeanette were blessed with two sons, Joe Allen and Arthur Stewart. Joe Allen preceded his father in death.

Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanette, son, Arthur (Tammy) Ramsey of Alpine, five grandchildren; Kristyne Ramsey, John Ramsey, Cooper, Colter and Carver Tate and six great grandchildren; Tyler Abendroth, Brooke Ramsey, Jacob and Aaron Rodgers and Emmalyn and Ty Tate.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, may 5, 2015 at Geeslin Chapel, 209 W. Sul Ross Ave., Alpine, Texas and internment will follow at 2 p.m. to Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 North Big Spring Street in Midland, Texas. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
