Billy Neal Gibson, born on February 7, 1943, in El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 19, 2025. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and friend.

Billy was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served his country with honor. After his military service, he pursued a successful career as a mechanical engineer. He dedicated many years of his professional life to Exxon Mobile in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where his expertise and commitment were deeply valued.

A graduate of Valentine High School in 1961, Billy carried a love for learning throughout his life. This passion extended beyond his profession; he was also an avid woodworker, showcasing his remarkable ability to create intricate designs and functional pieces from wood. His creativity and skill were a true testament to his dedication to craftsmanship.

Billy enjoyed volunteering his time and talents to help others and was known for his adventurous spirit. He relished the freedom of the open road, riding many miles on his cherished Harley Davidson motorcycle, embracing each journey.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Ann Gibson; his son, Linn Gibson, and his wife, Annie; his son, Billy N. Gibson, Jr.; and his daughter, Modelle. He took great pride in his grandchildren, Clay Tom Gibson, William Gibson, Jordan Gibson, Emily, and their spouses, including Chris, who is married to Emily. His legacy continues through his great grandchildren, Lane Gibson, Riley Gibson, Natalie, and Delilah.

He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Gibson, and his mother, Patty Gibson.

Billy Neal Gibson leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and a passion for life that will forever inspire those who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed but cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Gibson residence; 403 N. Cherry Street in Alpine, Texas. 

Donations may be made in his honor to Big Bend Pets or the Alpine Humane Society.
