Benny was born in Fort Davis, Texas to Ben and Lucia Benavidez on November 19, 1960. He went to school in Marfa, Texas graduating in 1979. He then went on to work in oil and gas exploration and travel the country. During this time he met his beloved wife Alicia, and they married on July 9, 1983. After settling in Presidio in 1992, he worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 25 years until his retirement in 2017. Benny cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren especially. He loved working on cars and projects and was a staple at the local drag races in Presidio and Ojinaga. When he was not racing he could probably be found riding his Harley with his wife or working at the family ranch near Ruidosa. He will truly be missed by his family and many great friends.
Benny is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Lucia Benavidez, his paternal grandparents Juan and Petra Benavidez, and maternal grandparents Felix and Anita Dominguez.
