Midland, Texas - Aracely "Sally" Ybarra, 61, a former resident of Alpine, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Hogan Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Midland, Texas.
Sally was born on September 12, 1956 in Alpine, Texas, to Mateo Luna Ybarra and Eduviges (Vasquez) Ybarra. Sally lived in Alpine until 1997 when she moved to Midland, with her family.
Rosary for Sally will be prayed on Thursday, November 16th at 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 17th, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, with Father Beto Lopez serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery.
Those honoring Sally by serving as pall bearers are: Rudy Adrian Ybarra, Phillip Ybarra, Victor Ybarra, Nicolas Ybarra, Eugene Ybarra, and Ambrosio Valles.
Sally moved to Midland in 1997, where she attended many vocational programs and enjoyed the company of many loving caregivers and close friends. Sally loved music, dancing, coloring books, red beef enchiladas, Coca - Cola, fishing, golfing, bowling and hunting. As well as many favorite TV shows and stations. Sally also enjoyed playing guitar and shopping at the mall. Sally also participated in the Special Olympics and was an accomplished Olympian medalist.
Sally overcame many obstacles and led a rich life full of love, friendship and humor. Sally loved her life and greatly enjoyed the many people who made her life better. Sally was dearly loved by her family, friends and caregivers. She had a gentle personality and a beautiful smile.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents: Mateo and Eduviges Ybarra; and one brother: Ruben Ybarra.
Those left to cherish and honor the life of Sally are: two brothers: Rene Ybarra of Odessa, Texas, and Rudy Ybarra of Midland, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews.
