Aquiles Gonzales

March 17, 1981 — April 29, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Aquiles Armendariz Gonzales announces his sudden passing on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 at Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine, Texas. Aquiles was only 37 years of age when he was taken away from us as a result of a tragic accident.

Praying of the Most Holy Rosary was held on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, and was followed by the Mass of Christian Burial., with Father Beto Lopez serving as Celebrant. At the request of Aquiles's family, visitation was held on Friday, May 4th, 2018 at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home's Geeslin Chapel.

Serving as pallbearers were: Nabor Gonzales, Sr., Jonathon Boyd, Ivan Villalobos, Thomas Lopez, Jacob Jacquez, and Eric Ramon.

Aquiles was born on Saint Patrick's Day March 17th, 1981 in Staton, Texas. He graduated from Alpine High School 1999 in which he excelled in Buck Football and Buck Baseball. Aquiles worked many jobs in the local area, his last was as a Salesman Distributor for L&F Distributors.

Like many, Aquiles had numerous hobbies. He was an avid Houston Texans fan, loved hanging out with his son Malachi, his father, family and friends. He enjoyed anything that has to do with history and was an avid History Channel watcher. Aquiles also enjoyed BBQ with family and friends.

Most importantly, Aquiles will be remembered by the many lives he touched. He was a kind and genuine person who always put a smile on the faces of the people he met, and he never knew a stranger. A loving father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, brother-in-law, boyfriend, Aquiles will be missed by all who knew and loved him especially his wonderful and loving son ,Malachi Gonzales of Marathon; his parents ,Martin and Elvia Sandate of Alpine; his maternal grandparents, Concepcion and Juana Armendariz of Presidio; his two sisters, Hang Marquez and husband Eric of Midland, Annalisa Sandate of Grandfalls; his two brothers, Martin Anthony Sandate and wife Laura of Del Rio, David Sandate of Fort Stockton; Aquiles girlfriend, Crystal Skolnick of Alpine; his three nieces, Rosella Marquez, Rosalyn Marquez, and Ella Natividad; his three nephews, Eric Marquez, Jr., Carter Natividad, and Miles Natividad, many aunts, uncle and cousins. As well as Aquiles beloved friends.
