Anita Bustamante

June 25, 1933 — April 15, 2019

Anita c. Bustamante - - A woman who once added colors to our pale skies joined our Almighty Father on April 15, 2019, after a brief illness.

Predeceased by her loving husband Faustino P. Bustamante in 1973. Anita is survived by daughters Marta B. Torres and husband Joe R. Torres of Alpine, Gracie B. Tijerina, Corey HS of Odessa, Texas; son, Larry Bustamante and spouse Sofia Bustamante of Clint, Texas; grandchildren: Billy Jack, Jo-Jo, Victor and Carlo Torres, Veronica Ramirez, Amanda Pineda and Esmeralda Bustamante. She was predeceased by her loving grandson, Louie Tijerina, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Anita was born in Casa Piedra, Texas, to Jose and Encarnacion Chavez, attended school in Casa Piedra and the "School of hard knocks". Anita and her family moved to Marfa as a young girl. After marrying Faustino, she threw her energies into raising their children. An exemplary mother and homemaker, Anita welcomed all neighboring children, her kitchen was never closed.

Anita was well known for her famous candy apples and popcorn balls she would make during fund raisers for St. Mary's School. Her biscochos were to die for. She was also a cheerleader sponsor for the girls at St. Mary's School. She was a CYO sponsor as well. Anita received numerous recognition awards for her avid participation in numerous clubs her children were members of.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Billy Jack Torres, Joe R. Torres II, Victor O. Torres, John Carlo Torres, great grandsons William Torres, Joseph Torres, Zane Torres, Austin Corrales, Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters; Veronica Ramirez, Amanda Pineda, Esmeralda Bustamante, great granddaughters Daniella Torres, Maycee Torres, great grandsons Cole & Seth Torres and Owen Cavness and one great great grandson, Rylan Torres. All her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Her life was well lived, and earth is a cruel place to be. Now that she is residing in God's Kingdom, let us offer prayers and comfort to her family.

She leaves us rich in memories.

The Bustamante entrusted Alpine Memorial Funeral Home with her services.
