Anastacio S. Milan

Mr. Anastacio S. Milan, a respected educator, beloved family man, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at the age of 79 in San Antonio, TX. Born on January 13, 1947, in Alpine, TX, Mr. Milan was a man whose life was characterized by devotion, both to his family and to the countless students he mentored throughout his 36 years of teaching at Crystal City ISD in Crystal City, TX.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Spanish & a minor kinesiology in 1970, he embarked on a distinguished career that saw him teach physical education, health, Spanish, and Drivers Ed, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many adolescents. His passion for education extended beyond the classroom as he spent a quarter-century instructing young minds on the nuances of driving, ensuring their safety and confidence on the road. In addition to his teaching role, Mr. Milan’s voice echoed through the stands for 30 years as a football announcer, his enthusiasm igniting the spirits of both players and spectators alike.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Mr. Milan’s spirit soared when he was discussing the latest Kansas City Chiefs game, a tribute to his favorite football team. Green, the color of growth and life, was fittingly his chosen hue – a symbol of the nurturing nature he brought into every arena of his life. Beyond sports, his interests were diverse; he found joy in writing, singing, playing the guitar and relishing in the serenity of taking long walks, and occasionally basking in the excitement of playing at the casinos.

His departure has been felt profoundly by his loving wife of many years, Corina Milan, and his proud children Livia Grace Milan (Daniel), Monique M. Gonzalez (Angel), Marie M. Crandall (Joshua), Lori Milan (Jim), and son Jose Francisco "Frankie" Milan. His legacy will be further cherished by his ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who will carry on with his teachings. He leaves behind his siblings: Rosa Milan (Chuy), Richard Milan (Silvanna), Frances Martinez (Joe), and Johnny Milan (Eva). Mr. Milan was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Santos Milan, and brother Miguel Milan.

His love and warmth touched all who knew him, and his legacy of devotion to education and family will forever resonate. As a loving mentor, a devoted husband, a doting father, and an endearing friend, he imparted wisdom, laughter, and kindness to many. Mr. Milan lived a life full of purpose, and his memory will be lovingly preserved through the vast network of lives he influenced. He was respected and loved by his students and community.
