Betty Beach

January 16, 1933 — April 13, 2018

On April 13, 2018 Jesus welcomed, with opened arms, Betty Lou Beach.

We will be celebrating the life of this wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother at a graveside service Friday the 20th of April at 2 p.m. at Elm Grove Cemetery in Alpine, Texas with an ice cream social at First Baptist Church to follow. Ice cream was her favorite treat and the people of First Baptist were dear to her heart.

Betty Lou was born January 16, 1033 to Herbert (Tex) and Emma Brereton. She lived in Omaha, Nebraska for her first 20 years. She married and moved to Southwest Texas and raised two children in El Paso, Balmorhea and hen on to Corona, Ca. Betty Lou and her dear husband of 51 years, Sam Beach, then lived in Pecos, Texas; Tucumcari, NM and Merrillville, In. Finally, in 1992 they moved to Alpine, Texas, They became a wonderful and influential part of their grandchildren's lives.

Mom was a very positive, fun-loving and kind person. She was trust worthy, empathetic, and a fierce prayer warrior. She was our cheerleader. Mom loved God and knew He loved her, not because of anything she did or didn't do but because she trusted Jesus with her heart and eternity.

Mom loved the workmanship of God and glorified Him by her care and wonder of it. She loved to hunt rocks and cactus. She loved trees, owls, dogs and the color green. She sang beautifully. She also taught us how to sing "conversational" silly opera while doing the dishes. She disliked mustard, back rubs and sleeveless tops.

Betty Lou is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sam Beach, and sons, Alan Vana, and Mark Beach.

She leaves behind her sister, Maryanne Battock ,Dallas; daughter, Andrea (Carl) Covington of Alpine; daughter-in-law, Edsel Vana of Marfa, son, Corey Beach of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren; Julia (Chris) Ferjo of Alpine, Emma (Ryan) Zent of S. Korea, Jody Covington and Alyn Covington of Alpine, Dana Pante of Lubbock and Gavin Vana of Marfa.

Alpine Memorial Funeral Home was entrusted with her services. Online condolence may be made at www.alpinememorialfuneralhome.com.
