Estela Ortiz Macias, age 87, of El Paso, Texas, formerly a long-time resident of Marathon, Texas entered enteral life surrounded by her loving family at Pebble Creek Nursing Center on September 11th, 2018.

Mrs. Macias was born on November 29th, 1930 in Marfa, Texas. She was born to the late Guillermo Ortiz and Eliza (Contreras) Ortiz.

Praying of the Most Holy Rosary was prayed on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Mission Catholic Church in Marathon, Texas, with Reverend Miguel (Mike) Alcuino serving as Celebrant. Burial followed in the Marathon Cemetery.
Those serving as pallbearers were: Ronald Garcia, Marcos Calanche, Adam Gallegos, Cynthia Cook, and Nicholas Gallegos. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Arthur Gallegos, Daniel Macias, and Jaedin Calanche.

Mrs. Macias was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very proud of her family and was always excited to support them in any endeavor they did. She loved holidays, and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. She was a devoted Catholic praying the Most Holy Rosary daily and assisting at the church when called upon.
Mrs. Macias was the beloved wife of the late Eustacio Macias, devoted mother of Adela Garcia of Marathon, Sylvia Calanche of El Paso, Rose Mary Gallegos of El Paso, Teofilo Macias of Midland, and Manuel Macias of El Paso. She was also a beloved sister to Julia Pinedo of Marathon, Irene Ramirez of Pecos, and Olivia Garcia of Kermit. She loved dearly her 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
